Hello Dear Readers
I am thrilled that you have come to visit Scout. It is a design journal; well frankly it is a Blog that thinks it is a magazine.
I have always been inspired by design and the design process, by creative people doing their thing, by the desire of an entire trade to bring beauty and function into our homes and enrich our lives.
Several years ago I edited a pretty awesome trade magazine the San Francisco Design Center News. The editorial team and I worked hard to grow it from a local newsletter to a design journal with a global point of view. Well, times change and people move on, however my need to tell people about design, introduce the works of artisans, craftspeople, designers, architects and manufacturer’s has never faded. Nor did the need to challenge the design professional to think outside their comfort zone and to encourage them to grow and change the world in their own way.
It is my hope to introduce you to new products, back door peeks of incredible projects, conversations with designers, the point-of-view of design editors, authors, trend and style makers, craftspeople, clients, and anyone who can teach us all something about design. I am hoping to bring you news of design related events for both professionals and their clients.
To our visiting editors Scout is hoping to provide you with great resources from some very talented people and companies. Stay tuned for Talent Scout.
